Tim Rylands, So Into It Ltd I have used many "voting systems" at conferences, often for feedback at the end of the day. Often, they are slow, unreliable and painful to use. They turn delegates off of the whole process. Not so with Turning Point. Your feedback gathering was fast, efficient and even FUN!
How refreshing to get instant feedback without the hassle
Well done indeed for the way you ran the session but also for the pain-free technology
Eileen Beamish, Director, Social Research Centre "We used TurningPoint to evaluate the Northern Irish Assembly conference in November 2009. The results showed very high levels of satisfaction with the conference overall, with participants valuing the way they were given the opportunity to identify issues, make suggestions and learn from one another. The evaluation also found very high levels of satisfaction with the formats of engagement used within the conference i.e. the presentations, breakout sessions, open forums and the electronic audience response system (TurningPoint)."
Dave Thompson, Inspector for ICT, Worcestershire LEA “Putting the questions together was interesting as it forced us at the LEA to think in more depth about what we wanted to know. TurningPoint is instant, thought provoking, and forces everyone to participate, all factors which change the usefulness and shape of the results. The instant results on the day were more than enough to tell us that there were discrepancies in opinion of our strategy around the LEA.”
Alison Stirling, Key Stage Two teacher and ICT coordinator “I thought the LEA Strategy event went spectacularly. I already use TurningPoint but wasn’t aware of the demographic feature. I will definitely go away and explore it for use in my classroom.”
Heather Tomlinson, Director of Education & Children's Services (Designate), Bristol LEA “The entire process worked really well with many headteachers commenting to me how much they enjoyed the activity. They felt they had properly engaged in the issues raised for the first time!”
Neil Tuttiett, Primary ICT Adviser, Bristol LEA “We now know more than we have before about where our schools want us to improve. I now hope we have inspired them to complete the Audit Commission survey when its available.”
John Holland, Head of Strategy and Innovation, Bristol LEA “The capabilities of the system went way beyond my expectations. The session ran beautifully and the demographic results will be invaluable for informed planning.”
Angela Allen, Secondary ICT Consultant, Sefton "The system has so far proven to be excellent. It is reliable and very easy to use. We are using it mostly in non ICT situations hence its versatility has been a huge bonus. Being able to analyse vast quantities of responses and break them down demographically has been invaluable"
Mark Weller, Infrastructure Specialist, Research Machines PLC "For me the voting kit has been very easy to use, set up and if required modify. The way it works in PowerPoint is extremely easy to use and quite simple to understand how it works. If a change needs to be made this can be done in seconds and importing the voting onto existing presentations is also very easy and quick to achieve."
"Although we have only used the voting a little for the primary conference it really does have the potential to gather some important information within a few seconds. Market share springs to mind as this is something that can take a long time to get but people would be happy to answer the question via voting and a handset could be assigned to each user giving instant individual feedback. If we plan to use these voting systems again we could really collate some great information."
"To summarise my feedback would be that the voting is easy to set up, easy to use, simple to understand, has lots of tools to allow instant feedback and has the ability to collate/ present data in an easy format."
Andy Hutt, Business Manager, RM PLC "With responsive graphing easily embedded into PowerPoint, the TurningPoint voting system was easy to use and enabled my presentation to be more interactive and engaging for the audience."
Amanda Peck, Head of Primary Business Marketing , RM PLC "Large conferences can mean that delegates are simply 'talked at' all day as managing interaction on this scale is very difficult. The voting systems allowed us to engage more directly with individuals in the audience and gave them a 'voice' plus the satisfaction of being able to give their opinions and feedback, simply, quickly and anonymously."
Melanie Rigley, Events Marketing Executive, RM PLC "I think the voting systems really did add value to our conferences by including the audience throughout the day and I think this was received extremely well."
John Salt, The Fourth Level "Crikey! What a fabulous tool indeed…I love those demographics."
David Wolfson, Chairman, The British Learning Association, www.british-learning.com "I was delighted with the help you gave to the British Learning Association at our Annual Conference. TurningPoint's technology really helped to involve our delegates a lot more than they would have been without it; and we could get an instant record of their views and opinions."
Richard Taylor, Adviser (ICT), School Improvement Service, Schools and Family Support Division, Children's Services Directorate, Northumberland County Council "I've got the voting system working perfectly - 8 statements on screen, 3 rounds, 4 votes, 4 votes, 2 votes, and in each round you can spread the votes. At the end it's a piece of cake to tally up in Excel."
