In order to update your software to the latest version, you will have to uninstall your current version of TurningPoint and install the full new version.

As long as you follow standard Windows uninstall and reinstall procedures, none of your TurningPoint files or settings will be lost. However, if you want to be 100% sure that you won't lose your files, you should backup the contents of your TurningPoint folder where all your sessions and class lists are stored.

To backup your TurningPoint files

Your TurningPoint files are stored in the My Documents/TurningPoint folder. Make a copy of this folder and store it in another location, for example:

• a temporary folder on your PC
• a temporary folder on your network
• a removable drive such as a USB "pen" drive
• a recordable CD.

Detailed instructions for making a copy of the TurningPoint folder:

Click Start > My Documents

A window opens, in which you will see a folder called TurningPoint. This is the folder you want to copy.

To make a copy of the folder within My Documents:

• right-click on the TurningPoint folder
• choose Copy from the menu that pops up
• right-click on the white space in the My Documents window
• choose Paste from the menu that pops up
• a new folder called Copy of TurningPoint will be made in your My Documents folder.

To make a copy on another drive or memory card, such as a USB "pen" drive:

• plug in your USB drive
• right-click on the TurningPoint folder
• on the menu that pops up, choose Send To > and choose the USB drive
• the folder will be copied to the USB drive.

To make a copy of the folder elsewhere on your network:

• right-click on the TurningPoint folder
• choose Copy from the menu that pops up
• open the network location where you want to store your copy
• right-click on the location and choose Paste from the menu that pops up.

To upgrade to the new version of TurningPoint

First, you will need to uninstall your current version of TurningPoint:

• Click Start > Control Panel
• Choose Add or Remove Programs
• Click on TurningPoint 2006 in the list of programs
• Click the Remove button
• Wait for the wizard to uninstall TurningPoint, following any instructions it gives you.

Next, you will need to install the new version of TurningPoint:
